Erasmus Mundus

Carla Freitas - Universidade Federal do Ceara - Brasil

The European Legal Practice Master fits perfectly to me while it includes the disciplines too important nowadays, renowned professors and precious opportunity to study at the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon, known for excellence in the international scenario. Despite my personal plans to study abroad and previous knowledge of Portuguese History because of our shared past, I could not imagine how valuable this experience would be. Since the beginning of the course, I have learned a lot inside the classroom and more outside. A total Immersion in Portuguese culture has has shown a delightful discovery, an experience full of wonderful surprises, especially for Lisbon being a city extremely inviting with its unique hospitality to any citizens of the world. Every day I confirm I made the best choice to have applied for the classic Faculty of Law of Lisbon. I am pleased with the legacy that I could get from this Centennial educational established.

Erasmus Program

Anna Szepietowska - Warsaw University - Poland

I’ve studied at the Law Faculty of the University of Lisbon two semesters and I recommend this faculty honestly. It’s giving a huge chance for students, who doesn’t speak Portuguese fluently before coming, for these there’re language courses dedicated especially for Erasmus students. The faculty offers interesting ‘Intensive Courses’ mostly in English, made by great professors form German, French and British universities. Moreover, we could attend classes in Portuguese, use library and research assistance as other students. All information we needed where available on website and sent by mail, that caused we didn’t have to visit Erasmus office every single time, nevertheless, we always could relay upon Erasmus Staff. Everything above with nice atmosphere at faculty made my stay really fruitful and I advise all undecided students to choose this one!

The Faculty of Law at the University of Lisbon gives a wide educational offer to the exchange students. Apart from regular classes in Portuguese, it also gives an opportunity to attend Intensive Courses, mainly in English. Professors of the Faculty are favourably disposed towards Erasmus students and allow them to take exams on individual and favorable conditions. Moreover, well-functioned cafeterias, an extensive library and very helpful local students, make study at the Faculty a great pleasure.

Philipe Gamito - Université Libre de Bruxelles - Belgium

Coming to an foreign university is always a scary experience. Despite all materials problems you may encounter, the faculty of Lisbon brings you a lot of emotions. By this, I mean that you meet so many people : as well students, professors or assistants. This new world is not that difficult to handle with. Of course, in the beginning, you will be stressed and you'll put some impossible pressions on Mrs Rosa Guerreiro but you must not forget that you are always able to come back a bit later... It is not necessary to go as soon as possible at her office : let her in peace and let's have some drink with your new friends.
In addition to this, the faculty of law is well situated : it's very near the metro station - that's important because you do not waste your time. It could also be useful if you meet some students of the Student office (AAFDL). They are very friendly and they speak fluently English (but, in fact, many professors and staff members do speak English as well as French). I can sincerely recommend you this faculty for all these many reasons (strategic situation, friendly students, lot of activities...). Being part of an Erasmus is always an amazing experience and, in my case, I will never forget all the people I met there. They brought me unforgettable memories and I would like to thank them for this!

I really enjoyed the time here at the Universidade de Lisboa and especially at the FDUL. My special thanks go out to the erasmus office namly Mrs. Guerreiro and also the student´s representative Cristina Correira who helped me a lot at my arrival and in the beginning. I also enjoyed my academic life in the faculty which occured to me as intelectually vivid and interesting place to study. My professors were all very helpful with lots of understanding for the problems of erasmus students. My advise to improve the situation is to use more powerpoint during the classes which helps a lot the students who are not able to understand portuguese perfectly.
Nevertheless thank you for everything. I really enjoyed my time here.
